There are some side effects associated with the consumption of ephedrine alkaloid; for example, it can have adverse effects on nervous system and cardiovascular system. Some other possible side effects noticed are hypertension (high blood pressure), heart attack, stroke, change in normal heart beat (rapid), loss of memory, myopathy, neuropathy, seizures, insomnia (sleeplessness), nervousness, tremors and death.
